Bathurst is centrally located in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales and conveniently located on the Great Western Highway.

By road, Bathurst is:

Train

The Dubbo XPT runs daily from Sydney and stops at Bathurst and on Mondays the Broken Hill Outback Explorer runs from Sydney and stops at Bathurst.

Daily NSW TrainLink services run from Sydney to Lithgow with coach connections to Bathurst also available. The ‘Bathurst Bullet’ train service links Sydney with Bathurst every day.

Fly

Orange Regional Airport is a key transport hub for the central west, providing daily passenger connections with Sydney and weekday flights between Brisbane and Melbourne.

The airport is located 15km southeast of Orange, approximately 40 minutes drive from Bathurst.

Flight times between cities:

  • Sydney – Orange: Approx. 50 minutes
  • Melbourne – Orange: Approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Brisbane – Orange: Approx. 2 hours
